POV stands for Point of View because, well, that view. Our world class menu derives from locally sourced ingredients (as much as we can) and a commitment to fresh. And by fresh we mean…really fresh. Burger meat, fish, crabs and oysters come from farms just around the corner. Herbs and vegetables (in season) are grown right on the property. And everything — breads, desserts, sauces and every single menu item — is made from scratch, in-house.
The artful interiors at POV were the vision of owner Peggy and designer Paul Haynes. Together they selected the tile, the colors and the materials (the concrete floor is a polished version of the original subfloor). Paul’s search for artwork and decor brought together estate sale and antique store finds and unique pieces that caught his eye.
We took the initial layout and opened it up — expanding the windows to enhance the water and sunset view from anywhere in the restaurant, brightening the walls (the paneling, now painted white, is an updated version of the building’s original) and lit the ceiling to make it feel higher. We’ve created a menu to cater to every palette and every budget, varied and equally tasty.
POV includes the indoor dining space and bar, the outdoor deck with dining tables and the beach, with its Adirondack chairs, chaises and fire pits.
The Culinary Team
The culinary team at POV Restaurant is led by Master Chef Carlos Gomez-Starnes. With an infectious love of food and great hospitality, Chef Charlos has been integral to our journey at Pier450. A chef in Washington, DC for more than 25 years, he brings his classic training and personal commitment to freshly prepared foods to Southern Maryland, preparing “American fare with an international twist.”
